Flachau togehter with Wagrain is the center of the Salzburg Sports World. The home village of ski star Hermann Maier is an ideal starting point for an exploration of the vast ski area, which extends over 860 kilometers. Due to the merger of the towns of St. Johann / Pongau, Flachau, Wagrain, Zauchensee, Radstadt, Altenmarkt, Flachauwinkl, Wagrain, Eben and Filzmoos this excellent winter sports paradise emerged.

From Flachau you have access to three ski areas: Flachau-Wagrain-St. John, Flachauwinkl-Zauchensee and Flachau-Kleinarl. Alltogether you can expect a choice of more than 289 kilometers of pistes between the base terminal at 900 meters and the mountain terminal at 2,000 meters. A great capacity of 72 modern cable cars and chairlifts mean short waiting times for the way to the top.

The blue, red and black slopes guarantee pleasure for every difficulty level and are of course, perfectly prepared. Due to the high altitude and the modern snow cannons in Flachau skiing is possible until late spring. Floodlights at one of the ski slopes, an illuminated toboggan run and the large boarder park offer lots of variety.

Apart from skiing or snowbaoarding you can work out at 160 kilometers of trails and enjoy the fantastic alpine nature off the slopes. There are also fantastic routes for snowshoeing and horse-drawn sleigh rides can be experienced around Flachau.
